Supplies: Fabric, scissors, hot glue gun, and chinese lanterns.

Step 1: Cut circles out of fabric.

Step 2: Fold the circle in half and put a little hot glue on the center, then fold over to secure.

Step 3: Apply more hot glue to the bottom of the folded circle.

Step 4: Press the bottom of the folded circle with the hot glue onto the chinese lantern.

Step 5: Repeat these steps until the whole lantern is covered. Once finished, attached some fabric to the metal frame of the lantern to hang.

Oh thrift store how do I love thee... let me count the ways. I love a good bargain and "treasure hunting" at the thrift store! My newest find is being able to shop online at the thrift store!

$100 Grocery challenge

This month I have decided I am going to only spend $100 on groceries.
We have been prepping our house to get it on the market so we can move on to bigger
and better things (hopefully!). So it is time to clean out the fridge and the cupboards!
So why not make it a little challenging for myself to not go crazy in the grocery store?!?!

Here was my grocery bill from yesterday: $26.52

And here is what was for dinner:
Chicken with sauteed artichokes & lemon
1. Pound 2 chicken breasts- season with Salt and Pepper
2. Cook Chicken in Olive Oli
3. Saute a can of articoke in Olive Oil
4. Add 1/3 cup chicken stock to artichokes bring to a boil
5. Add 2 T lemon (or squeeze fresh lemon) into artichoke mix
6.. Spoon artichoke sauce over chicken
7. Top with Feta

Total cost:
2:50 for chicken stock
$.71 for lemon

The rest I already had!

Eva's meal!
Spinach/broccoli/potato cakes
Steamed fresh spinach and broccoli- cut in to tiny pieces
Boiled grated potato
1 cup bread crumbs
2 eggs
Butter
Cheese (I used some feta)

Mashed all together and formed little cakes- then sauteed in olive oil.
Lets home she likes them!

So I thought I would share two of my favorite places for food ideas.
I have been struggling with giving Eva enough veggies these days- turns
out she can be very persnickety when it comes to eating. So I am trying to be
creative. Last night I made some tofu sticks....so cross your fingers!

TOFU NUGGETS

1 package firm tofu - 1/4 cup flour (more or less)
1 egg equivalent (2 whites or your favorite sub)
1 cup fine dry bread or cracker crumbs (mixtures are fun)
1 teaspoon garlic salt - 1 teaspoon paprika - 1 dash or a few grinds of pepper

Cut tofu into your favorite configuration (my toddler likes fingers).
Spread flour on a small plate or flat dish. Beat egg equivalent in a
shallow dish. Mix remaining ingredients in shallow dish. Turn each
piece of tofu in the flour to cover, then into the egg, then crumbs, and
then to the rack. Chilling will help to set the coating, but you can just bake right away. Bake at 350 degrees F
for 15-20 minutes until crisp. Serve with a dipping sauce
